“The Erotic Dreams of Mrs Slocombe”

The absolute funniest scene I think. The look on everyone’s faces when Mrs Slocombe walked in with that hairdo was priceless as well as trying to recover from it all. It seems like the hair that was to be used was not known ahead of time making it ideal for Mrs Slocombe to get back at her castmates in a funny way:

There is a noticable gap when Mr Humphries says his lines in this scene. “I’ll tell you one thing, I’m not sitting next to her at the um opera house…” Very unlike Mr Humphries!:
Waiting for cue:
Hard to tell of Mr Humphries was in the right place on this scene or he moved to throw off Mrs Slocome off which he seem to have done successfully since you will notice when Mrs Slocombe turned around here that she let out an audible “Oh” when she realized Mr Humphries was not where she left him before getting talked to by Capt Peacock.

Interesting story behind the golf glove being worn…

as recalled by Jess Conrad himself:
“One of the funniest stories from the filming of Are You Being Served / Memories are Made of This…. I went to wardrobe to sort out my costume. As is the case, more often than not, I wore my own clothes apart from the golf glove which the wardrobe person gave me the choice of two. Naturally I picked the one which was more eye-catching. And we were just about to shoot the scene when one of the technicians walking past the camera told the director in no uncertain terms that his so-called golf pro Mr Conrad was wearing the glove on the wrong hand!”
